Reductions in Bus Éireann's route X12, Limerick - Dublin/ Airport via Portlaoise, Roscrea and Nenagh

Update (4 March):  

Bus Eieann have now announced that the change described below will not take effect as planned.    It may apply from some later date, depending on industrial negotiations.






Bus Éireann have announced (now removed from their website) reductions to services on route X12 between Limerick city and Dublin city / airport via via Portlaoise, Roscrea and Nenagh, effective from Sunday 12 March 2017.



Details of the change

These buses will no longer operate:
  • 4:30pm from Dublin Airport
  • 8:45pm from Limerick
  • 6:45pm from Limerick (Friday & Sunday)
  • 1pm from Dublin Airport (Friday)
  • 6am and 10am from Dublin Airport (Saturday & Sunday are cancelled, Mon-Fri will still run)
  • 5:20am and 11:45am from Limerick (Saturday & Sunday are cancelled, Mon-Fri will still run)

Alternative services

Other companies which operate between Dublin and Limerick are:
  • JJ Kavanagh (stops at a wider ange of places than route X12)
  • Dublin Coach (fewer stops, goes to Dublin city only - but you can connect to their Dublin Airport service at Red Cow)
These services operate from Arthur's Quay, not Limerick Bus Station.  See the regional bus stops map for exact locations.



Note:   this change is part of a group of service reductions which Bus Éireann have announced for March 2017.   There is currently industrial action being planned in response, so it is possible that the details may change.
